After the smash 2012 hit Ted, the latest release from the multi-talented Seth MacFarlane is A Million Ways to Die in the West. Seth MacFarlane is the main star of the movie with co-stars: Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Neil Patrick Harris, Sarah Silverman, and Giovanni Ribisi.
I found the movie to be typical Seth MacFarlane. Great physical humor, raunchiness off the scale, and some really clever comments throughout the movie. NPH plays a great villian that leads a great dance off at the ol' town square dance and makes me want to grow a mustache! Sarah Silverman (plays a prostitute) brings her no apologies approach to comedy with some extremely vulgar, yet hilarious, interactions with her on-screen boyfriend Giovanni Ribisi. (Scene stealers!)
Theron and MacFarlane have great on-screen chemistry and was really enjoyable to watch. My feeling was that Seth was using a fair amount of Improv. Its that, or Charlize can really do a fake laugh well. Liam Neeson was underused and his character could have been played by 150 different actors, so that was disappointing. The movie had the feel of an updated Blazing Saddles, but not quite as good. (Tall order!)
TLCR Opinion: If you liked Ted, go see it. If you don't like vulger, don't see it.
TLCR Rating: 4/5
Sounds about what I expected.
