Ok, so I'm a couple weeks late to this movie's review. After two weeks into it's release Captain America 2 has grossed $159 million domestically while pulling in $476.6 million total. CRAZY! You know what else is crazy? You, if you haven't seen this movie!
Captain America 1 got a lot of negative reviews, but I really enjoyed it. CAP 2 is 10x better than the original. Much more action, a great supporting case, and a story that has a couple of inventive twists. I thought I had the whole movie figured out based on the 2 minute trailers that were shoved down my throat. I'm glad that wasn't the case at all! If you like action movies, you will enjoy this one.
Chris Evans continues to nail his role as Captain America. Evans pulls off Caps' moral integrity very well. Marvel has done a great job getting real actors to fill some of the smaller, yet really important roles. Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury, ROBERT REDFORD as Secretary Pierce, and ScarJo as Black Widow. Seeing a major comic book character come to life on the big screen, and seeing it done well, its just too good to see once! (I have seen the movie two times already, and if someone wanted me to go with them to see it a third, I would)
Are you borderline and wondering is anything in this movie something that you haven't seen from Avengers/Thor/Iron Man? Not really, sorry!
Do you need to see the 1st to understand the 2nd? Nope, just know Captain America was given a super solider serum as a WW2 solider, defeated the Nazis and Hydra(created villain group) while getting frozen in ice as his ship crashed. He has since been unfrozen in 'today's' world and is taking on the bad guys.
TLCR Opinion: GREAT superhero movie, VERY GOOD Action movie. Go see it if you like action!
